Terms of Service
1. What FaceValue is
FaceValue (onlyfacevalue.com) is a marketplace where people resell event tickets to other people at face value. FaceValue is the venue for the transaction, not a party to it: we never own, buy, or sell tickets, and the ticket contract is between the buyer and the seller. By creating an account or completing a purchase you agree to these terms.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself.
3. The face-value rule
Sellers may not list a ticket for more than they paid for it. Our systems enforce this, and we check uploaded receipts before a listing is marked verified. Attempting to work around the rule — inflated receipts, off-platform side payments, or anything else with the same effect — is grounds for removal of listings and closure of the account.
4. Fees
Sellers pay nothing. Buyers pay a service fee of $1.50 plus 4% of the order subtotal, shown before you pay. The fee covers payment processing and operating the marketplace, and it is not refundable except where the underlying order is refunded.
5. Payment, escrow, and release
Payments are processed by Stripe; by buying or selling you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms. When a buyer pays, the money is held. It is released to the seller 48 hours after the seller marks the tickets transferred. If the seller never marks the transfer, the buyer is refunded. During the hold window a buyer who did not receive what was listed can open a dispute from the transaction page, and we will resolve it — including by refunding — based on the evidence both sides provide.
6. Ticket delivery
Tickets transfer outside FaceValue, through the ticketing platform they live on (for example a Ticketmaster or AXS transfer). Sellers must transfer promptly and mark the transfer when it is done. Buyers should confirm the transfer arrived before the escrow window closes, and open a dispute if it did not.
7. Buying limits and bot defense
To keep inventory with real fans, we cap how many tickets one buyer can take for a single event and how fast one buyer can purchase across events, and we tie limits to payment cards as well as accounts. Automated purchasing, scraping, and circumventing these limits are prohibited, and orders that violate them may be voided and refunded.
8. Cancelled events
If an event is cancelled before your escrow window closes, open a dispute and you will be refunded. If a cancellation happens after funds were released, contact us — we will help coordinate with the seller, but a completed payout is between buyer and seller.
9. Conduct
Messages and reviews exist to complete transactions and record how they went. No harassment, no fraud, no soliciting off-platform payment, no posting other people's private information. Reviews must reflect a real transaction.
10. Enforcement
We may remove listings, hold or refund transactions under Section 5, restrict purchasing, or close accounts that break these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for fraud. Where practical we will say why.
11. Disclaimers
FaceValue is provided as-is. We verify receipts and hold funds in escrow, but we do not guarantee any event will occur, any ticket will scan, or any listing will sell. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms or the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continuing to use the service accepts them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, and disputes belong in its courts. Questions: support@onlyfacevalue.com .
